What retro games have soundtracks that sound amazing when translated into heavy metal?
So far the most common is DooM, Sonic, Pokemon, Mario, Shovel Knight and bits of games like Castle Crashers and Crypt of the Necrodancer.
What other series fits the bill? Post your favourite VGM (Video Game Metal)

What about if they don't even need to be translated?

That's good too, but nowadays metal in videogames tends to sound fairly generic.
I was moreso getting at classic, memorable tunes from games that translate well.
Not that Klepacki is one of the generic bunch, mind you. CnC had great music.
Mega Man was pretty much made for it

I don't know what metal is.
F-Zero Guitar Arrange was a fantastic album, they took a bunch of F-Zero tracks and rerecorded them. Amazing how good they came out.
