For a DS game, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days looks pretty impressive when upscaled. It's still a shitty game, but that's a whole other story.

That's not upscaling. That's just flat out rendering in a higher resolution.
Upscaling is when you make a lower res image fit a higher res display. Like you're stretching it out in MS Paint. Looks fucking horrible.
Why stop at 1080 when you can downsample?
