As far as DS2 armor goes Alva's is very overrated, I honestly hate his helm. Jesus set or Heide with Iron Mask are my DS2 picks. Fluted or Elite are my favorites overall.

I'll note that Demon's is super fucking biased against armor. If you want to fast roll using Fluted Set, and a one hander + shield you basically are forced to use the Ring of Great Strength, and have moderately high endurance (I needed 40 + Ring of great strength for DBS, Wand and Fluted). That being said, armor actually seems like it makes the biggest difference early on as Knight or Temple Knight have significantly higher defenses that trivialize the first few levels.

Allant is a fantastic fight, but there's long stretches between attacks where he'll just fucking leave himself open. Also his poise is hilariously easy to break. Only things he has going for him is his Soul Grab, AOE, and being a damage sponge to end all damage sponges.

Back when DS1 launched on steam I promised myself I would play my first run using bows and fist weapons. i managed to reach sif and capra demon before my pc died on me.
Never played again.
I remember playing with bows kinda sucked since it is really easy to miss if the target is moving, and zooming wasnt really feasible. Was I playing wrong or bows are really that bad?
