What problems do Dream Team and Paper Jam have? Loved the other M&L games, including PiT, but everyone says to stay away from the 3DS installments. Why?

I had fun with Dream Team and didn't have many issues with it besidesBowserbeing the final boss, the tutorials and gyro controls. Paper Jam (which I just beat less than an hour ago) is just very generic since it's the standard Mario locations and the story is very basic, also you have to collect around 200 Toads via a mini-game and it's so fucking boring to do. The writing is fun though (like usual) with the Koopalings and Paper Mario is satisfying to attack with. Overall Paper Jam is the weakest in the series to me.

Paper Jam isn't a bad game.
But it had the potential to be so much more.
So, even though it has pretty great mechanics, it's disappointing overall.
The only ones really worth playing are Super Mario RPG on the SNES, and Paper Mario 64.

Dream Team is still a high quality made game but suffers from Tutorials and a lot of fucking stalling, specifically in the dream world
Still a great game though
Paper Jam really depends on your priority, if you are really stuck up, the setting and story will bother you, i personally didnt, the gameplay is fucking fantastic, best boss battles in the series and the seeing the Mario world being represented in an RPG character development wise without relying on OC's was great.
Toad missions are repetitive but i can forgive them as they are filled with variety and don't shove One sided gimmicks like Bowser's Inside Story and Gyroshit controls like Dream Team
In my opinion there is no bad game if your willing to accept each game having their own flare

The entire point of the game is interractions within the Mario world without relying on OC, the only possible improvement was to fix the Toad Mission count
They should keep the shortened Bros attacks and the fast forward R button from paper jam, those were great.
