Maybe metroidvania just isn't for me. I really like the style and want to like the game, but wandering around this giant castle isn't as fun as the other games.

IV starts off easy, but gets hard toward the end.
Egoraptor gave up on IV at stage 8 (the cellar). Most of the times he died was because he didn't want to use the sub weapons lol.
The actual most casualized game from the 4th gen is Rondo: short, easy levels, practically 0 difficulty outside of a few bosses, item crash mechanic with invincibility frames and save features, and the optional Maria which is babby modo. Still a great game though.
I think the worst classicvania is Bloodlines.

IV never gets hard, sure it gets trickier in the hex levels, but nothing impossible, like what you'd find in Chronicles or III. He was right about the game being too easy because your whip is too strong.
