Yeah I was 7 and I managed to get to the Blue Mountains but then got stuck on a "puzzle" I could never get past.
I beat the game for the first time last year.
When I was young I managed to get to the point where you have to unlock Mr. Dark's level, but never managed to do it.
It isn't THAT hard, but the later stages have many bullshit moments, especially the Space Mama boss. Fuck that cunt.

I did that 2 years ago aswell.
I had to cheat additional lives and I consider myself a good player.
Beated it in the end, but with 30-35 lives cheated. I think you can grind additional lives in the early levels though, so if you wanna beat it and not cheat you can do that.
Hope you got good. I cleared this game twice as a kid but these days I'm out of practice and Space Mama pushes my shit in. Game's still really fun, though.
