Play it, then play Banjo-Kazooie and -Tooie and watch Rare do the same thing 100 times better in the Sam generation. It's good, but once you play BK/BT and Sunshine, it doesn't hold up.

It looks like absolute shit because the N64 aged terribly but it's still an incredibly good platformer based solely on the massive amount of movement options available to you. Watch an SM64 speedrun if you haven't to see how beautifully the game can be played.
