I figured it was worth it because I got the game for nothing, and the story seems interesting so far; just that everyone I play with is a miseryguts. There's no purpose to gearing up if you don't do the hard content like Midas Savage since that's all you need the good gear for, every patch is the same and they force you to run the same two dungeons over and over and over to cap on tomestones which can be done easily in like 1 or 2 days if you actually play the game. Feels like there's no fucking point to playing anymore. Doesn't help my FC died and I don't have many people to play with.

I was on ultros, and I'll be honest I had hype for hw and was a part of the community doing silly shit like trolling my fc members with surprise personal tyrone videos critiquing their playstyle in their inbox or crashing their private rooms with a group of people. Even boring moments like waiting for fates to pop was fun because we enjoyed each others virtual company.
Moved to gilgamesh for HW and i still find it a letdown. It's not a bad expansion, and there are some interesting new things it does, but it's far too safe and nowhere near as difficult or mechanics focused as 2.0-2.5.
I'm fucking speechless when I que for a 60 expert dungeon and find a tank who has no idea how to position a target or a group that takes 40 minutes to clear rocking i180 gear.

I think you're being a bit too lenient on the whole 6.1 patch. Blackrock Foundry was complete when the game launched, we were waiting for it to unlock for several months and we were stuck in Highmaul for that whole duration. Highmaul is probably one of the worst raids they've ever made and it made our raid group dissolve through sheer boredom. I wish BRF was the first raid they released instead of that shitpile. Anyways, Heavensward is still going and still has quite some time while Blizzard is already gutting Draenor due to their new goddamn release schedule. I'm looking forward to Legion but I'd say in comparison to HW, you're getting more bang for your buck in the long run since it seems Blizzard is dropping all pretenses about making WoW into an even quicker cashgrab. With that being said, I almost miss Mists of Pandaria.

The only problem with MoP was the setting and the new race, which didn't sit well with people who were used to WoW's brand of alternative western fantasy.
It was a fantastic expansion in terms of content and gameplay.
I'll admit that the initial raid tier wasn't the best the game's ever seen and there were a lot of daily quests, but ToT and SoO really made up for that. The problem came then when SoO lasted 14 months.
