I already have, and its kind of shit though. Both the quests and the NPCs are somewhat shallow. A LOT of NPCs have literally copy pasted dialogue not to mention quests such as "fetch me 5 flowers" which are numerous.

It's not for everyone, it takes a long time to pick up steam. The exploration element is a good hook that the later games really don't have though, at least for me.

Both in Skyrim and Oblivion, most NPCs have quite a bit more personality than the ones in Morrowind. In Morrowind the vast majority of the NPCs was a machine that shared the same exact dialogue, in Oblivion and Skyrim, as shit as they are, at least NPCs have their own things going. Like how Whiterun had that black dude who kept talking shit to everyone because he was rich, or how this one lady was trying very hard to become a trader and so on.
Of course, there is copy pasted dialogue in all entries, but in Morrowind they compose the vast majority of the dialogue, while in Skyrim they are the minority.

I guess. IMO there are tradeoffs either way.
You either make most NPCs completely forgettable, or you make it completely obvious up front which NPCs are the important ones and which ones you ignore completely which shatters immersion (at least for me).
I liked Morrowind's system better, maybe because I like reading and I usually just skip voice dialogue after reading the subtitles anyway. It's flawed but it just worked better for me.

Morrowind accomplished both. Most NPCs are completely forgettable because they have literally copy pasted dialogue. And I mean it when I say literally. And it's completely obvious which NPCs are the important ones because they are the ones that have less copy pasted dialogue.

I guess you could feel that way but Morrowind was never really about the individual npcs it was about exploring a huge world and the politics and history behind it. The npcs don't really matter but the factions they belong to do.
