the fact that CoD4 outsold Halo 3, even when Halo 3 was probably the biggest game release ever at that point, was the first sign that the people playing games had gotten even dumber somehow. not that CoD4 was a bad game, but its gameplay made even bad players feel like they were being rewarded with its silly spawn points, dumb perks like martyrdom, and the whole meta-game where you leveled up and got a pat on the back even if you were 2-15 every round.
