At no point is the challenge fun.
I hate the game as well, but I'll at least say that it does some interesting things with the SuperFX chip and the music isn't horrible.

Alot of the designs are amazing, it has great music and alot of gameplay mechanics that stay fresh. The problem is it is too boring and easy. It's the type of game you praise because you were a little kid when you played it

Mario 3 is engaging enough.
I find Yoshi's Island to be great. It has some fairly bad parts (crying baby Mario and all the vehicles) but the rest of it is really good.

Presentation and music are great and you know it. If you feel the game is too easy try 100%ing it and if that's too hard git gud.
Sorry if you don't like how floaty yoshi is, but that's just your opinion and doesn't really change how good the game is. It's pretty fucking classic desu.

Did you get a chance to play Yoshi's Woolly World?
I didn't think it was as good as Yoshi's Island, but it was still quite fun to play. Levels were far too easy and linear, outside a few maze-like ones, and that made getting 100% in most levels rather dull. It was just making sure to collect all the coins and poke in all the corners. The badges were at least fun to use.
I do like that all the vehicle sections were enjoyable for once, though. My biggest disappointment with YI was how dull or annoying the (frequently mandatory) vehicle sections were. Much better done in Woolly World.

Yea actually. I like wooly world, nowhere near YI but leagues better than the trash handheld games. I never liked story much either. The thing I like about wooly world is that you are rewarded for collectables, extra levels and extra yoshis make collecting feel good. That and its a game that I can play with my shitter girlfriend. Yoshi lends itself to co-op more than most other platformers which end up being clusterfucks.

To be fair, the clusterfuck in Super Mario 3D World was fun. I have to say that sort of screwery seems to work better in 3D, though. The New Super Mario Bros multiplayer just doesn't seem as amusing, so it's perhaps welcome to see Woolly World with just two players.
