Ys Thread. Just finished 2, do I play Oath or Origins next?
>>331339286
If you just finished 2, play Ys Origin first since that is a direct prequel story-wise to Ys 1 and 2.
They're both awesome.
oath
Play 6 first, you'll probably appreciate it more that way. Also you'll get more references in Origin that way. Really, just play those 3 in release order. 6, Oath, Origin.
Does anyone have that image for getting into Ys? I've played through Oath but thats it. Like to get back to the series after I beat TiTS FC.

I recommend playing Origins. Oath and Origins can't be beat. Seven and Ys 2 are good too though. I found all the others to be less enjoyable but it'd probably be wierd to play Ys 2 without playing the first.

I & II on steam, then Origin.
>>331343019
I also have Celceta, but I heard it wasn't as good as the others.
>>331343019
Dawn of Ys is pretty boss if you haven't played it.
>>331343136
Yeah, I'm playing Celceta right now, and it definitely feels like a chore to play.
>tfw playing Toal storyline
>tfw kinda hyped for a new Ys because it's a Ys but also not really because it's the new gameplay style

But you can JUMP now.
Play them in release order
Napishtim->Felghana-> Origin
>>331343772
>the game is good, you can jump now!
Thanks for triggering me, asshole
>>331339286
I'd go with Origin. You'll see a lot of throwbacks to the first two games.
>>331343605
What's wrong with the gameplay style?
So I have Oath, Origins and Celceta but don't have Napishtim yet. Could I just play Celceta until I get Napishtim? Is is as standalone as everyone says? I was told that it takes place after 2 but before 3, is that true?
>>331344206
It's not Oath/Origin/Napishtim. Duh.
>>331344264
Yeah. Celceta uses the 7 gameplay system though so keep that in mind.
>>331344264
Youll appreciate Felghana and Origin more if you play Napishtim first
I played 1 and enjoyed it, but it got crappy at the tower and I'm currently playing oath. I played a bit of 2, but I'm in that mine at the start and it's very maze-like and just a pain to navigate... Does it get better, to the point where it's worth playing? Will I miss a lot of refferences in origins if I don't play it?
>>331344206
Party system is kind of boring.
Like >>331344307 said, I think Oath spoiled me. It was just too good.

>mfw playing Hugo storyline

He's really not that edgy. His struggle felt pretty real to me.
