what are your thoughts on this /v/?
One I could play for hundreds of hours, the other one I got bored with after a single hour.
It deserves a lot of credit for a number of things. As far as mainstream games/publications are concerned, it's a good pick.

I think I never ever heard about 90% of these "awards".
Seriously, is it witcher gained more recognition or is it just more shitty blogs make their own goty awards?
Fuckin earned it.

But I agree.
>>331296354
cant think about a better AAA than W3 so it deserves the praise
>>331296354
That I can't believe a shitty game like The Last of Us has 249 awards...
>>331296354
It's a good game for the game industry, just like the last of us. they're not bad games it's just the difference between Queen and King Crimson, both are good, but Queen is easier to understand, as opposed to say, Dwarf Fortress.
>>331296354
Did they fix the shitty roll roll combat?
>>331296354
Literally one of the best video games of all time. It deserves it.
>>331296968
Shut the fuck up
*drops mic*
>>331297136
Pretty good analogy desu
>>331296354
awards don't mean much but the game is really good
great, well deserved
>GotY awards
It's funny considering we're amidst this whole Gawker fiasco and are being reminded of just how pathetic journalism has become, especially video game journalism which is straight up amateur hour.
Tbqh, indie games are basically the only thing worth playing anymore. AAA shit is stale as fuck.
>>331297651
Several of those are well deserved
>>331297789
Yeah, once you remove the Bethesda shit, Bioware shit, Naughty Dog shit and dumbed down SS2, you have a nice little list.
>awards
>credibility
Here ill bring last of us back to the top
>award for shit movie
>award for hyped disappointment
>award for being a playstation game
Boom, there you go sonyggers. Back to the top you go.
>>331297885
>Bioware
DA:I, sure. But Kotor belongs there.
>>331296354
Blunderborne, Failout 4 and VOCAL CHORD PARASITES losers on suicide watch.
>>331298512
>KotOR over Wind Waker
"No."
>>331298776
I would put WW over Kotor as well but it's just as viable of a choice for GOTY 2003.
>>331298742
Raising toxicity to level's even a witcher can't handle.
>>331297651
>oblivion
now that i look back, how that garbage even got any recognition to begin with?
Yet nowhere can you actually find just a straight list of all these awards, because if you could, you'd quickly realize 98% of them are meaningless bullshit that are only ever considered for AAA titles in the first place. An award means nothing if it doesn't carry some sort of recognition and respect, and literally the only one that matters in the industry is GOTY.
>>331297651
>list reads from bottom right to top left
who the fuck made this shit

A dyslexic chinaman.
>>331297136
>Queen
>good
I'll never get this meme. King Crimson is fucking great though.
>>331296354
My thoughts? Opinions are subjective, it doesn't matter if a game gets awards, that will not change my enjoyment of it.
>videogame awards
This is as beautiful as watching a setting sun while getting a really good blowjob.

>>331296354
Deserved.
TLOU was also a good game but TW3 had way more effort put into it and it shows.
Number of awards doesn't say much about a game's quality but rather it says how popular the game is.
>>331296354
Can't wait for CyberPunk
>>331296354
It's one of the few times a game wasn't a cheap cash-out and received the praise it deserves.
People should celebrate this, but some people won't because they are autistic and spent a full year shitposting prior to the games release already.
I wouldn't say it "deserves" all the awards, but there is nothing worthwhile to take its 2015 spot.
Also who gives a shit about awards.
If it's enough for other companies to take notice, make decent games, support them, and drop DRM, then hooray.
But we all know that won't happen.
As someone who's loved the Witcher series since the first one I'm just happy they finally got the big hit they deserved. The game isn't perfect, and there's definitely been a lot of things that have beenn kind of dumbed down to make it appeal to a wider audience but it still feels like it was the creation of a talented team that worked very hard and loved what they did, and there's not a lot of mainstream games you can say that about.
>>331300334
if bloodborne was multiplat it would've easily beaten W3, at least for the people who actually count
casuals still prefer generic fantasy setting #15
>>331296354
That says less about The Witcher and more about how many pointless awards are floating around these days.
>>331298924
>>331300662
>implying bloodborne is any less generic
Played neither and have no intention to in the near future. Looking forward to doing so perhaps much later in time, at least w3, but after I finish 1 and 2 and get a better pc. As for TLOU I don't want to buy a ps3 again.
To me they're just the most marketed/produced games, that's what the awards are for.
>>331297651
>Fallout 3
>Oblivion
>Skyrim
>Cisquisition
These awards are worth less than shit.
>>331296587
Pretty much this. It was my personal favorite game in a looong time. Like, since portal. It did a lot for the industry
