It's okay if the DLC was actually started after the game came out I have heard rumors that sometimes they cut bits of the game out and make it DLC for later.
It really depends how much extra content there is, if there only 1 or 2 expansions/DLC then there's no point in a season pass but if there's 5 or 6 then it becomes almost necessary.

I was beyond close to purchasing The Division until I noticed the season pass comes with content that SHOULD have been included in the game. I ain't fucking paying for shit that won't be released for an ENTIRE FUCKING YEAR.

I think it's not that bad. Games cost a lot to develop and should probably be more than $60 anyway.
Also there seems to be less AAA releases every year so its a little better, would suck if there were season passes for indie games.

Dark Souls historically has had good DLC worth the price of entry but I still would never buy a Season Pass for it. It's way too easy to squeeze out shit, even for a company like Fromsoft, when your meal ticket was paid for 6 months before it had to be.

The purchase of a Season Pass entitles you to all DLC released under that umbrella, and the vast majority of the time it's all DLC released for the game. You pay once for it, and you never have to pay for the individual DLCs. Usually you also save about 5 or 10 dollars by buying the Season Pass as opposed to each individual pack.

It started as something great(10 dollars for all the LA Noire DLC episodes) and turned into something fucking horrible(99% of all season passes after that at 40 bucks)
The only season pass that was remotely worth it in recent years was TW3 one. Blood and Wine will be 30 dollars by the time it is done, and we've already gotten Heart of Stone.
