Generally you don't load magazines on the field.
G11 magazines themselves are incredibly compact and are lighter than standard magazines because the G11 uses caseless ammo.
The reason it never became THE assault rifle is that it was expensive as balls to make and its internals were KRAUT SPACE MAGIC and as such needed a full toolkit to fix and repair, which is a no no for any combat rifle. Other than that, the G11 took a fat shit on every other assault rifle of its time.

The military's standards for replacing the M4 family is so fucking ridiculously impossible that the only reason we'll ever get a full on immediate replacement is if standards are lowered in desperation; any proposed rifle has to perform better than the current platform in every way while SIMULTANEOUSLY being cheaper to produce, retard proof, and AK platform tough.

The golden gun wasn't some super mega laser pistol of death. It was a 22. that was made of a lighter, sleeve cuffs, and a pen.

It's not that the standards are high, it's that the cost isn't worth the benefit. We'd have to replace the M4s, the magazines, rails and other items meant to work with the M4, tools for the M4, spare parts for the M4, possibly huge stockpiles of ammunition and retrain all our personnel to use the new rifle. When you're talking about marginally improved performance at ranges greater than most engagements take place at and maybe 10 or 20 fewer stoppages per 1000 rounds, the juice is not really worth the squeeze.

Then in the final phase of the competition, the rules were suddenly changed to favor the M4 or some other bizarre sketchy bullshit happened so that the army could justify not having a winner.

Axes typically have smaller axe faces, shorter or complete lack of spear end, useless and/or inferior spike opposite the axe face, a complete lack of distancing and blocking tool (the pole), and no jabber (bottom of the pole that it usually near the floor).
Axes are only similar in that they share the axe face. Otherwise, Halberds are superior combat weapons for those who can efficiently wield them.

It was op as fuck in Bad company 2. You could fire pretty much as fast as the gun could without losing accuracy and with minimal recoil. 4-5 shot kill usually and since it was a really fast 2 round burst. It usually felt like you were 2 shotting people
