It's not an issue as simple as updating a console, it's 2 things. Alienating the audience who purchased previous versions of a console, and Implementing it in a time span that is fair to the consumer. If a console comes out in 2016 it should be updated once in 2018 for the consumer instead of multiple renditions and the console retires after a 4 year span spawning a new gimmick onto the table.
