Does anyone else than me appreciate this gem of a game? Not for the gameplay, but for the cinematics.

This was my only real complaint. Most of the time I didn't do anything with the AI teammate, or if anything I just sent him on a suicide mission.

It was ok as a joke game, but not as a serious RTS I would go online with.

C&C 3 was the last game to do FMV right. RA3, and more recently examples like NFS2015 and GH Live were just too self aware.

Come on now, RA3 was competently made. Sure, it's not highly competitive and most of the features are rehashed from previous C&C games (or don't work well) but "joke game" is something more close to Stalin vs Martians.

Athena Cannon or Cryo Legionary were top notch.
The Century Bomber redesign was also great.

There is a noticeable difference between planning to be silly from the start and trying to be serious, and unintentionally creating silly and funny situations due to your incompetence and budget constraints.
The first just feels stupid, while the second has a charm to it.
Thats how I felt about the new game cut scenes compared to the older.

Earlier this week I watched RA3s cutscenes. Every allied mission brief starts with "outstanding!..or bang up!. or ding dong!..or smashing!. or blaady fine! jaab commander"

The cinematics are gold, Tim Curry is amazing. I really enjoyed the gameplay but it's the only RTS I've ever played.I must have wanked over the ladies hundreds of times

It was a solid C&C game. Not the best but not the worst by a long, long way. While the while thing was exceptionally silly and campy it was pretty enjoyable if you just rolled with it and accepted it for what it is.
Also Tim Curry's 'SPAYCE!' line is the best goddamn piece of dialogue in any video game ever. Cracks me up every single time.
I like RA3 and no amount of angry 4chan posters can convince me otherwise.
RA2 is obviously a better game, but RA3 is great fun too.It also has the best russian dub out of all games I know

The only really bad thing about the game were the porn actresses, maybe a bit short campaign (after the juggernaut that was C&C3 + KW, 27 missions is really nothing) and the support powers being bonkers.
The game looked great and played great.
Heck, it introduced CO-OP campaign idea and the water was handled amazingly as well.

Red Alert traded blows with Warcraft 2 and for a good reason, Red Alert 2 is de-facto the best C&C game out there and C&C 3 really set the Tiberium series straight, being the second best game after RA2 as it revived the franchise during a motherfucking global economy crisis.

I wouldn't say so myself.
The real campaign in that game was the challenge mode which RA 3 has.
But the main culprit were the subfactions, which introduced quite a lot of horseshit into the game. Imo, the concept was sound but infinitely better executed by KW.
It's still fun but less so than Red Alert 3 which has a better campaign, less gimmicky units, more fun gameplay, less excessive imbalances and all around slightly better execution.
I rank Generals right below RA3 in my lists, so it's not like I haven't enjoyed my time with the game, it's just RA 3 does mostly the same, only better.
