I get the feeling Uchi would've preferred it this way regardless of the circumstances considering ZTD is pretty much his dream game; he purposely chose a different artist for this one. He tried playing it safe with 999 then tried to pander to the Jap otakus for VLR. When that didn't work and he realised his core audience was the West, he just went "fuck it" and was finally able to make his game in its purest form. That's my take on it anyway.

That's not true. They didn't even try asking her if she would work on Zero Escape 3.

Having one project is hardly going to keep her from taking any more. A number of professionals have pretty big lists of what they do within a year. Even during Virtue's Last Reward, she was also working on Code of Princess. She hasn't been getting that much work these days overall, which is kind of a shame.

I think people are mostly talking about the characters when they're talking about art style, more so than the environments. I also preferred 999's overall setting aesthetics to VLR's, though I think VLR's facility was more vibrant than people usually give it credit for. It was hard to beat the pre-rendered backgrounds in detail, though.

I'm not really liking the look of ZTD too much. A lot of what we've seen just looks like worse-quality versions of VLR's areas. And the violent stuff looks too goofy to take seriously, compared to 999's more subdued horror.

I assume it'll be mostly 50/50 outcomes, with an addition outcome in the Decision game where you do nothing, so it should be manageable. You'll get more repetitive ends by choosing doors at random in 999.

A couple things I can think of:

a) He'd have to backtrack to the cell from outside the incinerator door, we don't know if the route is as straightforward as the chute, but more importantly...

b) There's the possibility that he dropped the makeshift rope down when he was done pulling Santa up after Ace nearly grabbed him. 9 year old Akane is tiny and the chute seemed to be at quite the height, so she probably wouldn't be able to throw it high enough for Seven to catch it from the chute.

I can't really catch what zero had said, but it might've meant "fool", as in "gujin" for "Fate is something for fools", but there's also another character before it, so I can't say for sure. But as you can see, this isn't a 100% direct translation anymore.

Can any videogame character defeat Junpei? And I don't mean preschool, rabbit caretaker and premature pussy magnet Junpei. I don't mean 999 esper detective interrogator sudoku solver extreme Junpei either. Hell, I don't even mean 110 year old slick haired survivor of a pandemic world Junpei who manages to drag a child with him and have both survive. I'm talking about Mars Test Site Junpei, with esper powers, limited jumping abilities because he'll probably be attuned to others who can jump for no reason, dog control over ventilation shafts, friends with Zero and Left giving him an edge over every other participant, knowledge over every piece of the Zero Escape existing timeline and mastery over ambiguous sexual innuendo dialogue.

The way it's done is something like this: You can either shoot Sigma, with a 50/50 chance he dies or lives, or you can just not shoot him, ensuring he lives but making sure Phi burns to a crisp. I don't really see the problem with it as long as the game makes sure the player doesn't have to spend reloading earlier in the timeline many times to get the other path.

You only got two outcomes with one that is blatantly better than the other. Not really exciting.

Having it be random gives us 3 outcomes and allows the player to really think about the choice he has to make, you can't just guess what is going to be the right answer because there will be no guaranteed right answer where both Phi and Sigma survive.

Also, Uchi already hinted at the fact that the game might react to the player replaying a fragment over and over again to get another outcome.
Another exciting development that is only possible if you introduce some random element.

For those concerned about this, the Decision stages have their own individual segments on the chart, so you can literally just warp right to the Decision and redo it without redoing the puzzle. I assume some meta thing will judge you based on this though. But as for the RNG, it's so that some of the optimal paths carry a degree of risk. I assume they will only get steeper later on. Maybe a situation like "Kill Junpei" or risk "Junpei AND Akane die 50% chance". It's to test your morals. Characters like Sigma go after the statistically best choice, hence his decision to volunteer his life, whereas people like Diana are optimists that will pray for the best. It's fair in that there is an alternative that isn't random, you accept the risk.

After these, there really isn't much of a difference, other than Sigma specifically referring to Phi when he mentioned if she remembers anything about the bracelet.

Then, the part where Phi yelled "Why? Why did you do it?" was actually "Why? Why did you shoot?", which is most likely referring to the preview that the press got where Diana had to play Russian roulette on Sigma to free Phi from the incinerator.

Then, when Mila said "Interesting", I couldn't really understand her in Japanese, but it was something along the lines of "Jitsu ni", which means "Really" or "Indeed", followed by something I just can't understand.

The final word by Zero, he said that "You, me, and the human race hang in the balance"but in Japanese, he said "This game will determine the fate of all of you, myself, the human race.
