Hey I love this game and all, but I cleared this part of New Londo of ghosts and 3 pop out of fucking nowhere as I'm climbing a ladder and go to town on my ass, and I can't even slide back down the ladder as their attacks break the animation.
This is literally cheap-as-fuck artificial difficulty.

There's a specific set number of ghosts. They don't just spawn out of nowhere.

You can clear the area completely before climbing that ladder.

The only answer is Duke's first encounter considering you can't even fight back.
Sure you can break a ring to avoid the penalties or cheat by making a jump to skip the fight entirely but it is possible the only bullshit part of the game that I completely disagree with them including in the game.

Prepatch ds1 gave less souls per kill if I recall correctly.
I don't think the skeletons in the graveyard gave any souls at all. Other than that I don't remember what else was different other than patched exploids.
