There's definitely something cynical in how certain forms of advertising imply that the product will make you more social. That's a totally self-imposed barrier that no amount of money can change though (unless you're obscenely rich, though the quality of those friends will be poorer than if you were just plain poor).
It sometimes feels like certain forms of advertising prey on those feelings of insecurity and loneliness to make their products seem more appealing. There's something awful about that.

From what I recall, I believe the PSVR renders what the player is seeing on the TV as well as the headset. The point was to make sure everyone in the room was able to participate/spectate.
