why not a character that actually has a mental illness like schizophrenia or bipolar disease or something? and doesn't exploit these things to give an illusion of a deep character, shows the disease in a fair light and a realistic way.

Even novels with a similar subject are usually complex enough to deter average readers from getting into them, let alone the average gamer
