Subclassing was broken, monks needed to deal more damage punching shit, and stratums were four floors instead of five. Other than these it's one of the best EO games.

Class balancing is awful.
I personally think the classes are too gimmicky in both appearance and function, and i'm glad that 4 returned the class designs to something more formal.
That, and subclassing/class balance is busted. The difficulty goes out the window after the second stratum.

3's classes were actually good, look at the classes of the first 2 games, they're bothing and generic, a swordsman, a paladin, a hunter, a mage, a cleric, etc

Maybe i'm genuinely the only one, but I greatly prefer the classes from the first 2 games over the ones in 3.
Generic doesn't equal bad, and I think they look great and are very well-designed for what they are. You can actually tell each class' purpose just by looking at it.
I always have a hard time choosing portraits whenever I play 3 because I just don't like how a lot of them look.

The blonde Princess is the only good-looking portrait in the class. The standard male is boring, the shota looks dumb, and the second Princess has no neck.

IV has my favorite classes overall.
Fucking Imperial is the shit, nothing as satisfying as charging up and weakening the boss for 3-4 turns and unleash a super finishing blow anime style, all while trying to stay alive.

Cool concept, but mounts are a bit too much for a dungeon crawler.
