Why have western RPGs always harbored fear of sex when fantasy books and art embraced it from the get go?
Have you noticed the severe dissonance? It's like Frazetta, Corben, Howard, Vance... never existed.
Partly because gatekeepers see vidya as something for kids, partly because most western devs are cucks abd partly because burgerstan holds tight to its puritan founders

America's enforced it's soft power to influence the state of all modern media. Even things like game of thrones only use sex as a shock filter.

One of my favorite artists is Milo Manara, I think if games had sexual themes done as well as something like his work there would be less a problem.

Talking about visual theme first and foremost, and as for benefit - are you aware how many gameplay mechanics are there to be explored in an interactive sex scene? Imagine a Conan game where you have to fuck a witch to avoid being eaten.

And how would that make for interesting gameplay? Mash a button and wiggle a joystick to thrust as rapidly as possible in the right spots? Sounds like a tedious QTE. Maybe if there was a game with controls built entirely around having sex, but then that would just turn into a guessing game of picking the right positions and spots.

Frazetta is a great artist who sell smut.
Gaming with "sexuality" are more often than not bad product using them to pander to the lowest audience. And because with gaming, you aint get a good sex segment interactive or nor without spending lots of money (or slave someone away, preferably slavs and japs) you better ditch that entirely for the meat of the game.
There's a reason porn game only focus on the porn.
