Hey everyone,
Just looking for some simple direction. I'm trying to play EarthBound, I have a SNES but I know a copy is way over priced today so I attempted to use a rom on my lap top. My lap top is no gaming laptop but i figured it could run something like this anyway. When I started it up it sounded good and ran perfectly, but then i bought up the beginning of the game for comparison on youtube and realized it was different. I started off and it was Christmas, I had a party with my group. When i went to go outside everything was glitchy and I couldn't tell where I was walking.
So anyone who has played this game,

>Is there a part in the game that is further and it maybe started me off at a different point?

Shit man, that was gonna be my main point of advice. Try romnation or emuparadise, and make sure it has that little verified mark on it. It's been a long time since I messed with roms, but I believe it's the [!] mark. Good luck.

OP, I too want to know how the fuck you managed to download a pre-patched romhack while trying to get the original game.
If you haven't tried it yet, I also recommend emuparadise. They've only failed me once, for some reason the Super Mario Advance 2 rom they have is edited to have the ripper's intro before the game starts.
What emulator are you using OP?

Try out Snes9x. ZNES has a lot of emulation inaccuracies. There's another one that's 100% accurate, but I think that's way too complicated for you, plus I don't think your laptop could run it anyway.

I would recommend using the bsnes core in retroarch if you're gonna go the cycle-accurate route. Higan isn't exactly user-friendly. Plus with retroarch you can use shaders.
