There's no way anybody could begin to know.
The tech in his arrows matches the ancient tech from Skyward Sword, so it might be the time period before Skyward when all the demons started spewing up from the ground.
Would be a good change of pace for the Hero to fail or only stave off the inevitable for people to escape to the sky.

Aonuma said the game would make people want to replay Twilight Princess HD and that data would carry over through the Wolf Link Amiibo.
Obviously it's a sequel to TP and that's why they did an HD re-release of the game.
