Couldn't stand the slog of Trails in the Sky. Was thinking about trying this out since it's at least better to look since they actually have proper 3d models.

Yes. You do chores like finding light bulbs and shit while sometimes also going outside on field trips, but most of your time is spent at the school where you have to do actual studies for in-game tests (as in reading books and you having to remember shit from the text there in the libraries).
It's another one of those school games japan is fond of. Anime tropes and all.

It plays better as in it runs smoother than the Vita version which has it's fair share of slow downs when running around some maps. It's not noticeable if your only playing the Vita version but I have both so it was to me. I'm not saying there's actual changes to the gameplay. Thankfully Cold Steel 2 runs better on Vita so in that ones case you can go either or.

Man, I just got to Trails of the Sky: SC, and I was so hyped for the story to pick up after that long painful series of scooby-doo + MMO chores that was the first 70% of FC, and the game is right back to that fucked up horrible pacing, complete with rehashed zones/monsters.
Does the game pick up faster than FC? Cause I really have no fucking interest in doing these menial tasks that contribute nothing to the plot anymore. It's like filler in a fucking shonen anime.

I literally went through every bit of trails filler in like 45 seconds in x15 speed and lost nothing on the plot.
I know kids think that the character development is something special, but it really isn't. It's just a reiteration of the same 2 personality traits that each character has being shoved in your face for 20 lines of dialogue at a time.
