I think it's pretty good. I will admit, though, that the reason I find it so fascinating is not because it's particularly original... I find it fascinating because it reminds me of the lore behind the movie Alien (1979) before they had to go out and ruin it by making Prometheus. Not everybody's cup of tea, I guess.
