As a long time Halo fan who did exactly that, I honestly enjoy Black Ops 3 ten times more than halo 5. It feels like shit and definitely not halo, and the controls feel so damn clunky considering Black Ops 3 does all of the same movement "boosts" AND has wall running.
I miss the floaty bumper jumper days of old. Remember reach? Imagine if every player had double sprint, and evasion equipped all the time. Then add ADS that feels super awkward and out of place, and you get Halo 5.

Halo 5's MP is good, mechanically the best since 2, but no, it's not worth buying a whole console for, unless you are a huge halo fanboy and also want 1-4+odst's/cea/2a campaigns n 1080p 60fps via MCC, but it's MP is dead

Gonna have to disgagree with you. 5 feels different, but unlike 4, in a good way, and it does still feel halo at the core. The ADS is literally just zoom but on all weapons now, which just helps makes automatics more useful. All the weapons in 5 are more accurate then the were in past games even if you don't zoom with then in 5.

So I played a lot of Halo 5 multiplayer his last weekend while babysitting (the Xbone was the Dad's. The kids were 6 and 7) and I honestly lived it. That new mode where it's 4 v 4 and kind of like SWAT but only with 1 life as awesome. Reminds me of execution from Gears of War.
But I keep hearing about the campaign being really bad on /v/. Even the worst in the series.
Is it bad mostly because of the story? Because I honestly don't give a shit. I mean yeah, I like the Halo lore, but that's never been the drawing point if the campaigns in the first place. If it's fun to play with good enemy variety, AI, and difficultym then I'll be fine with it.

I got an Xbox One for Halo 5's multiplayer. I wanted to play with a buddy of mine who's really into Halo. I figured it'd be a regular nightly thing like it was with our Halo 3 clan 7 years ago. But our schedules never synch and I've played with him exactly one time since I bought the Bone a month ago. I haven't used it in weeks, I play 360 games most of the time still.
At least I'll be able to play Dark Souls 3 on release though.

Entire game is built around a forced in squad system that DOESNT. FUCKING. WORK.
3 of the levels have no enemies. They are literally levels where you are told "go here, talk to this person. Go here, talk to this person, now go here." Then you're done. You get achievements for completing them.
And there's more I'm sure I'm leaving out but I'm just fuming up thinking about it.
But yeah the multi is somehow great. It's like the game was made by 2 different devs.

Also what is that mode from ODST and Reach, kinda like horde? Firefight? It's coming later to H5 in a free update, Warzone firefight I think its called.

BO3 caters to the lowest common denominator when it comes to player skill. Literally all the abilities are based off of hacks or destiny supers and create an even MORE unbalanced piece of shit.

Black ops 3 wall running is clunky and heavy
