I hope you're all ready for the real Everquest Next. I was disappointed that they decided to stick with the tab target combat instead of optioning for a more active system ala dragons dogma / dark souls. At least then there would be a nice blend of individual skill and stat manipulation. The environment obstacles and mana relics are nice touches, although I'm not too sure how well modern mmos audiences are going to react to what is essentially a hard core pre-velious EQ clone with pretty graphics. I mean part of the problem with mmos to begin with was them being too much alike with the same hotbars, talent trees, class archetypes, ect, etc. And I don't really see anything that genre bending and new coming out of Parthenon. In fact, all I see is a nearly 20 year old game design with a new coat of paint. That alone should be disappointing to anyone who is a fan of big worlds and online communities.

Either you make good gameplay or don't make it at all.

They already had a Kickstarter that failed and it looked worse. I honestly have no idea why they think a mmo with game play straight out of 1999 is acceptable to anyone but the most stubborn of nostalgiafags.
The genre moved on with the refinement of WoW and the sandboxs of SWG and Eve. Time to take it another step, not retreat into the past.

I want off this ride.
I actually watched the twitch steam and saw a lot of promise. The game is in a prealpha state, but I thought the group dynamics showed a lot of promise. After watching the stream I backed it for 100$ . This game is the closest we are getting to a resurrection of classic EQ and I'm willing to gamble 100 on it.

It's much easier to set low so you're guaranteed something and have high stretch goals especially if they ended up making the game anyway
