Nintendo isn't interested in making anything that doesn't fit their current model of:

>no original characters, just the main cast

Nobody wants to see a thousand jumps in one special attack
Nobody wants to see an entire section dedicated to fight after fight after fight
SMRPG literally has the best battle system with character mix ups

I'm with you, but Enix was always a publisher, never a developer. Even post-merger the Enix side is still doing pretty well. SE is a pretty good publisher on PC.
