Alright, finally a somewhat valid criticism. You could've complained about animal buddies or the bosses, but then again the bosses in the first DKC were just big versions of the vermin you encounter so even DKC3's weird ass bosses are a step up.

3 is just a full experience. 2 is a classic with a great soundtrack but only scratches the surface of what can be done.
1 was made obsolete when 2 came out. However, 1 had the greatest impact back in the back and it's part of the reason why SNES held its own as the Genesis began challenging Nintendo's dominance.

It felt like a step back from DKC2
It was more goofy and strange than the previous 2 DK games. I suppose it gets a little better toward the end but it's start was really jarring.
It takes place in the northern kremisphere, basically North America, and it's full of bears. In spirit, it has a lot more in common with Banjo Kazooie than it does DK.
It's a shame Banjo Kazooie never officially breached the DK gap like it was supposed to with Stop N' Swop.

I don't mind the taiga setting, actually.
They redesigned a ton of the baddies in weird ways, mostly as "naked." DKC1 had military, DKC2 had pirates, DKC3 had... something? Like the "Krusha" and "Klaptrap" enemies are worse looking than before.
It also had the worst secret ending too, which is obtained after finding all the DK coins and banana birds. Half an egg shell falls on K. Rool. Nothing happens after that.
This kind of pre-rendered art style creates dreary visuals that are completely out of place in a jungle adveture about monkeys collecting bananas.
A style like this is much more at home in something like Abe's Oddysee

DKC3 might not be the best, but boy it had the best gimmick levels.
Like the saw cutting through the tree, the gas pipes that made you float when you jumped or flipped you upside down, etc.
Also the snowman boss fight was boss.

2 is objectively the greatest 2D platformer of all time, so that's not much of a debate. All 3 are fantastic games though.

I think Kiddy is the shittiest kong in the entire franchise. I would literally rather play as HE than Kiddy. Outside of that shitter, I got tired of all the gimmick levels in 3. It's still a great game, but 1 and 2 were better.
DKC2 Any% > DKC3 100% > DKC 2 100% > DKC3 Any% = DKC
If you're a completionist then DKC3 is a better experience with the final world and extras being better than DKC2. Just playing through them without worrying about 100% DKC2 is the best.

Out of the four playable characters in the series, Kiddy was the most obnoxious of them when they lost a life. It was never necessary to do that.

People say 2>1>3 , Personally I think 2>3>1. I think Kiddy Kong gets a bad rep for no fuckin reason. Sorry but as far as Nintendo goes with baby characters he's one of the better ones.

Technically true.
1 has some glaring hit and platform detection issues. 2 fixed them all, and is probably the best, but 3 is my favorite just because of how much content it has. It does kind of foreshadow Rare's collect-a-thon style that'd be prevalent in their N64 library, though.
