Steam has 2 hour refunds now, which is notable since piracy is really only a thing on PC anyway. Console sales will be unaffected.

But my point is that with piracy, people are able to check out games and form their own opinions based on experience rather than the skewed words of people paid to say its good or people with buyer's remorse trying to justify it.
Just look at Lords of the Fallen. Sold pretty poorly, despite being unpirateable for nearly a year, because most people weren't willing to spend the money to find out if it was good or not. It wasn't very good, but the only people who found out were buyers.

I found JC 2 to be dreadfully boring and a waste of money. I got it on sale for 10$ and even I felt ripped off.
Once you get past the whole BOOM EXPLOSIONS part you realize the game is empty and the world is shallow.
I got the PS4 version as a christmas gift from my brother and it was okay, never really got into it though.
Then I tried to replay it last week and at some point they put out an update I guess since they fucking broke it. Entire game looked and felt like it was running on the lowest settings for the PC version being ran on a computer from 1998.

JC2 and JC3 are the complete opposite though. They have fuck tons of content but most of it is repetitive.
I had more fun with the early JC2 MP mod than I ever did with JC2 as a whole.

Because the main Avalanche studio was working on Mad Max and Avalanche's B team worked on JC3. There was apparently some crossover when Mad Max was near completion but it was probably too late.

Personally, I didn't buy it because it looked a lot like the previous game. I put a few hours into JC2, but never quite got comfortable with the mechanics. It felt like a lot of other open world shooters loaded with copypasta content and locations.
The destruction was great and shooting mechanics were a lot better, but the world was a lot less interesting than 2. I don't know, it's just kind of boring. I loved flying around in jets or driving a boat around the island in 2, but 3 just didn't grab me like that for some reason.

The Just Cause series never felt like a AAA game. I guarantee you 90 percent of people on here bought JC2 for less than five bucks. People consider Just Cause a B-movie tier series so they don't expect to pay 60 for it in this day and age.
