>Five Nights comes out

>Several months later
>/v/ hates it
Somebody explain. Did it get too "mainstream" and "hip" for /v/?
i don't remember anyone saying anything good about that game
>>330669197
>liking it ever

Because it was milked more then a cow is during it's entire life.

More like
>several days later
>/v/ hates it
Because the fanbase decided to become one of the most autistic fanbase after they made a /vg/ thread.

>Healthism
>moral obligation for people to be healthy
>we need to watch that
You would think an adult would know at least something about life.
Daily reminder.

I think the general consensus is that the first one is a great and innovative horror game while the rest of the series is a cash grab

>Several
That is both generous and wrong.
It was literally two days after the game released, and it was like somebody flipping a switch. It was ridiculous how quickly the general opinion here changed.

The first FNAF was alright, most people can agree on that. Problem is, shitty fanbase came along and JUST'd the whole thing. Now, people can say fanbases don't have any effect on the game's quality, and with the first one that is true. But as the series went on it started focusing less on making good gameplay and just focusing on some convoluted lore bullshit just to keep the fans satisfied. Sure, gameplay in 4 was pretty fucking good, and FNAF World was okay after it got fixed. But FNAF 2 & 3 made it irredeemable for the most part. Gotta hand it to Scott though I guess, at least he tried innovating each game to an extent, instead of just shitting out literally the same game 4 times with a different skin.

First game was solid, had a nice hidden story, was decently challenging towards the end levels.
Second game was a mess, Scott released it too fast instead of playtesting it more, and the gameplay was shallow and didn't let you explore all the hidden stuff he put in.
Three was pretty solid, with only one plot-heavy fanfavorite mech that could actually kill you with hidden P L O T minigames that ultimately lead to a pretty conclusive end.
Fourth game was pretty nice despite trying a little too hard with the designs, and was a nice wrap up.
World is some confusing mess aimed solely to gather fans' money and nothing else. Was a total mess on release and had to be removed to be fixed or something.
Games are all worth playing, and they're dirt cheap to boot, but having them all come out in the span of a year was super excessive.

things got weird and it became a cashgrab
which is a shame, it should've just been a lone mysterious low budget indie horror game and the developer should've left it at that.
it was a neat idea, a horror game where you're under stress and pressure to not fuck up because you know exactly what happens when you fuck up, you get a jump scare, which is a nice twist on usual horror tripe where it's just jump scares and no substance. in fnaf, a jump scare is merely a fail state
