It's good except i fucking hate the dpad
At the time i was doing a quick replay of das1 and when i pressed a direction to change equip, i would also press another direction and swap other stuff

It depends. Some games should be good on mouse and keyboard in theory are sometimes better on controller and vice versa, plus sometimes it depends on what you're doing in game so for example inStar Wars Battlefronton foot KB&M is the way to go but in any of the air vehicles KB&M is damn near unusable.

Honestly, this is the way I do PC gaming:
KB/M and Monitor for MMOs, RTS, and a good chunk of FPS games (especially multiplayer FPS games). Controller + TV for Action, RPG, Driving, Open World, etc games. And then everything else it just depends on how decent the KB/M controls are.

I use a controller when the game requires precision analogue movement and has a lesser emphasis on aiming. I use a kbm when I'm playing a UI heavy game or a shooter. Shit, I set my 360 controller up for Elite Dangerous and I do better than most of my friends with HOT ASS set ups.

Some games are just best with a controller. Platformers, arcade games like Ikaruga, console ports like Dark Souls. But they're still playable with M&B, it's good to have a choice.

I got the exact same problem, bought the the controller last August and it stopped working in December. The weird thing is was, when I would plug the controller into a USB port all other ports would stop working until I unplugged it.
