There's an easy fix actually
Remove the insert, manual, disc from the case.
Get a damp wash rag and rub the goo spot for a bit to soften it
Next get some plain old scotch tape and press it onto the sticky goo spot, slowly peel the scotch tape off then continue to DAB the goo spot with the STICKY side of the scotch tape until all the goo comes off.
No good gone required.
