minoxidil will regrow hair, but it wont stop baldness. Finasteride should put it to a halt. It's also a lot easier to take 1 pill everyday then rubbing stuff into your scalp everyday.
people usually use it in combination with fin though, because fin isn't guaranteed to regrow hair, just keep what you have.

So yeah, it was probably a weak/recessive gene or some shit running in my family and I had the shit luck of inheriting combination that makes the trait manifest itself, or some shit. I'm not a geneticist, but looking at my family history, it looks like it should be extremely unlikely for me to go bald... especially beginning to bald while in my 20s. That, combined with the fact that everybody in my mother's side of the family has a full head of hair (cousins who are all 15-20 years older than me included). Only her father had some traces of it... he had a somewhat pronounced widows peak in his 60s... but it wasn't that bad.
Meanwhile, it looks like I'll have the same kind of widows peak but while I am still in my 30s... I don't know why the hell it happened. That kind of hairloss looks different. It falls off more in patches and/or looks a lot more diffuse.
Genetic baldness more often than not has a pattern to it. You start to see more and more small and weak hairs where your hairline is. Those hairs get progressively weaker and smaller until they don't grow anymore, and so your hairline gets "pushed back".
For me it started already. My hair used to grow fast as hell until just about 2 years ago. Now it only grows that fast on the back and sides. Top grows like half an inch every 5 months. And I see those small hairs all over my hairline with the occasional stray hair that looks normal, but has a small gap between it and the rest of the strong/normal hair. That shit did not look like that when I was a teen, and I would know because I used to comb my hair backwards.
