There are children that know japanese why dont you?
Dont you wanna play jap games?
>>
Ok OP, gimme some tips to learn it
>>
>>330545993
I tried and it's hard
>>
I'm learning
Taking a break now
Your native language is always piss-easy to learn. Going from English to Japanese (or from pretty much any language but Chinese to Japanese) is a lot harder.
>>
>>330545993
>There are children that know japanese why dont you?
That is one hell of a dumb statement, OP
>>
>>330545993
If nobody bother translating them they're probably shit desu
>>
>>330546164
If you only play what's popular then just stick to AAA trash like the division
>>
>>330545993
I do want to play those games but at the same time i am afraid that u wiuld use that tgird languge to.oick inderage girls and boys and kids to seduce and eventually want fornicate with which ould apperently be esay as fuck given to how sexy my ethnicity would be to the.>>330546042
>>
There's not enough un-translated games and media that I'm interested in to warrant putting the time and effort in to learn the language. I would also not enjoy the act of learning the language.

Any tips on learning Finnish? I know this Finnish girl from school and want to impress her. Apparently its hard

Just show her your penis
She'll either recoil in horror or she'll be totally into it
Either way, it'll save a lot of time and effort.

Assuming you know some jap do stuff you did in english in jap.
Like pokemon or something.

As long as its something you like.

For me I watched a lets play of danganronpa in english while playing in jap.
After a while I started to recognise words and understood certain structures of sentences better.
Now I guess I can do it on my own.

That's a terrible idea considering
a. if you use VNs, most fantranslations are simply bad and older official releases are often simply rewritten
b. if you use something like Pokemon, you're wasting your time because it only contains trivial grammar that you can just learn normally from a textbook as long as you aren't an ADHD sperg
c. most importantly Japanese and English are very different languages, things work differently in them, so learning through comparison puts you into the wrong midset of "this Japanese thing = this English thing" when more often the reality is "this Japanese things overlaps with this Japanese thing in this context"

>Don't you want to play jap games
If the game has more text than gameplay I don't want to play it because it's a shit game.
>>
I'm not a fan of turn based/overly grindy RPGs, visual novels/dating sims, or shmups. Are there still a lot of games that justify learning the language to play?
>>
>>330547380
You're really stretching if you think English releases tend to be good translations. They're usually rewrites based on context.

I see (it seems to be a good idea), but how do you deal with kanjis ?.
You know, it's piss easy to know the meaning of a word in any foreign language who use a latin alphabet but in the case of kanjis, even counting the strokes is a pain in the ass
>>
>>330547846
>but how do you deal with kanjis ?
by studying
>>
>>330547846
Learn vocab and kanji along with it? Also known as learning Japanese.

Although he'll probably tell you to use an automated translation tool, it's popular with plebs nowadays - "I learned Japanese grammar in a month and then read everything with automated translated vocab".
>>
I studied Chinese for 9 years. But haven't touched it for 5 years. How similar is Japanese to Chinese?
>>
>>330547892
( I mean, you're in front of a kanji you don't know, what are the tools to recognize it beside "counting strokes in a illogical way" ? )
>>
>>330548001
Look it up in a kanji dictionary like jisho.org

Perhaps rethink. Cause it shows you're the last person that should mock anyone.
>>
>>330547594
Okay I agree there are differences.
However you can see what the author was trying to convey.

I tried danganronpa it was hard abd had so many words I didnt know however going through with a lets play allowed me to easily grasp what is being conveyed.

Pokemon is pretty easy and grear for begginners I assumed he was one. Try other stuff if you want but pokemon is great for begginners

I get what you mean by comparison if the two languages abd they are differebt however. However language is conveying information. If you understand what is being conveyed it should help alot in understanding what us being said no matter the language. Like if I find some weird text I cant decipher in jap but remember in english what was said. It can help me understand jap better.

Even if you barely understand the language by simple knowing what is happening makes a lot of difference and can help you understand in your target language
>>
>>330547827
True but just knowing what is going on helps understand the text.

Radical search
>>
>>330548721
If someone is a beginner they should be studying, not getting through some banal video game and getting a bad idea based on someone's translation. You should realize the goal of learning Japanese is understanding Japanese as is, without aid.
>>
>>330548656
I wasn't mocking anybody and i don't see how that is wrong
>>
>>330549012
Perhaps you need to rethink the difference between これスレ and このスレ. An understandable mistake if it's your first week of learning Japanese.
>>
>>330548656
>>330549145
you sound like a huge douchebag
>>
>>330547846
I had trouble with kanji and tried heisig it was really useful.

Still you could learn the words with the kanji but you still kinda might have trouble getting used to it

>>330548952
Yes but I said it helps you understand what Is conveyed.

Like saya no uta it took me a while to get what was happening so I tried with an english playthrough for a few boxes to get a feel then the jap just clicked and didnt really need the playthrough anymore and could do it all jap.

Besides just do things you like.
Pokemon helps you get used to sentences has a fair vocab and probably decent for begginers rather than a light or nitro+VN any shounen stuff shoukd work
>>
>>330549323
If I wanted to be douchebag, I would tell you you're a fucking retard for trying to show-off your Japanese and making a fucking first week of studying tier mistake in it.

Instead I'm just telling you to rethink.
>>
Still waiting for the matrix so I can upload the language into my brain.
