The first game is amusing as hell.
I did find it funny most of the time. Then the rest of the series happens and its all shit story and comedy wise.
The gameplay improves though. But if you just want a good story and some laughs, the first game will probably have the most chance of giving you that experience.
I got a good few laughs and aww's from Disgaia 4. Its by far the best one imo
