This generation has been the slowest of all in terms of getting new games. It's been 3 years and yet none of the consoles have many in terms of exclusives and what not. Game development has become way too long and expensive.

I don't think that's why there's not as many exclusives. It's just easier this generation to make Multiplats and the financial incentive Microsoft or Sony can offer to devs probably isn't as much as potential sales on other platforms so they probably have to lower the amount of exclusives they can afford.
I think exclusives made more sense last generation when the difference in hardware between PS3/360/PC was significant enough that it made porting a pain.
