The Etrian Odyssey series started in 2007. If anything, video games were reborn and have been getting better and better since then.

I wouldn't go that far, but there's been considerably less that I've enjoyed. Off the top of my head I can name Monster Hunter games, Demon's/Dark Souls and Original Sin. SMT IV was also all right but a huge step down from Nocturne.

Console gaming died when consoles stopped functioning exclusively as video game machines launching the game the second they were powered up. Online accounts, bloated homescreens, social shit, and advertising are all pure cancer.

everything bad about modern gaming started when the xbox and then the 360 came out. console shooters got popular, paid dlc got popular, pc developers either shut down or switched to making AAA console trash.
