are you fucking seriously making a six cent transaction into this much of a goddamn pain in the ass steam
>>330461612
I wonder how much money they lose from people being unable to unload cards during sales
>>330461612
Why do people of normal intelligence and above get punished for the idiots who literally get scammed?
>>330461612
I hate this. just because retards somehow manage to get their accounts "hacked" everyone has to suffer from this forced horseshit
>>330461612
yeah, 15 days is a joke
The part that always makes me laugh is that the kiddies are getting scammed by Russians. Not even difficult to avoid but just saying "knife" turns everyone into a retard.
Just give me your fucking phone number.
Just get WinAuth.
>>330464018
Don't you still need a smartphone for that?
>>330463953
That's the problem, it not only needs your phone number, but an installed Android / OSX app as well
Of course they didn't even bother to make a Windows Phone app before forcing this shit on everyone.
>>330464059
No, just a mobile number
>>330464160
>Windows Phone
People actually use that shit?
Why the fuck do you even need that to sell on the market? You can't get scammed there, it's not a trade and Valve acts as a middleman.

https://github.com/Jessecar96/SteamDesktopAuthenticator
>>330464391
Yes.
I got it for free and realized that it has all the shit I need, including most apps and a decent camera. This missing Steam app is the only thing I'm missing.
>>330464472
So that after someone has already hacked your account, the hacker couldn't sell your items without your confirmation.
>>330464391
I do
>>330464472
Supposedly is to avoid people for selling stolen items.
>>330464472
>Someone steals your account
>They sell your shit
>They buy games
>They gift said games to their own accounts.
>>330464391
My dad is the only person I know who uses a Windows phone, and he only uses it because his employer gave him one for free.
Exact same reason he drives a fucking Honda.
>>330464391
>not being such an idort you own a Lumia, a Vita and a 3DS
For shame, /v/
>>330464543
>trusting third party applications
no thanks, I just use HandyAndy and Bluestacks with the official steam app
>>330465005
Android emulators are third-party applications.
>>330464550
>>330464597
>>330464657
Ah. Yeah, that makes sense then. Still a huge pain in the ass. Really don't want to download the app or give them my number.
>>330465005
>trusting third party applications
>no thanks, i just use third party application 1 and 2 with the official steam app
>>330461612
I just delete my cards now
>>330465005
>thinks 2factor has anything to do with trust
>probably thinks that 2factor requires a connection to a server
>probably thinks valve sends the steam code to your app when you go to look at it.
its literally just a hash of the current time with a key...
you can use google authenticator with steam for instance, you just poop the key into the app and away it goes.
2-factor is passive, its why companies can sell you shitty 2-factor keychain dealios that give you the code on a literal keychain with no access to a server anywhere. in fact, if 2 factor did access a server that would just negate the whole point of 2 factor.
oh well, no use in trying to talk sense into a literal fucking retard.
>>330461612
Post yfw you realize this was implemented to reduce the millions of micro transactions steam processes per day and has nothing to do with scammers.
>>330464391
It's far superior to Android in terms of security, updates and most likely privacy. There just are no apps for it so it's more like a dumbphone than a smartphone.
>>330466823
>there are people who think this looks good
I'm more upset that I have to confirm every listing I make on the steam app EVEN IF I LIST IT ON THE STEAM APP. you have to then go to another tab to "confirm" the listing
