This is exactly when videogames started going downhill as a market and as a form of entertainment, the industry as a whole.

Make no mistake, this is when The Fall began.
>>
>>330453912
According to faggots like you we've been falling for decades.

Where's the ground?
>>
I guess if you were fifteen you might think that.
>>
>>330453912
HORSE ARMOR DLC
>>
>>330453912
No it fucking isn't, the fall was long before 2014.
>>
>>330453912
>Make no mistake, this is when The Fall began.
maybe if you're in high school, video games have been declining for a lot longer than MUH DESTINY ;_;
>>
>>330453996
actually they particularly right
>gameplay degradation

>lack of optimization
If you do not see this one than you must be literally retarded.
>>
I'd argue the end began in 2006, and couldn't be attributed to any one game. It was a change in the market and the ways people consume media that hurts videogames most
>>
>>330453912
That happened a full decade before Destiny came out.
How old are you? 14?
>>
>>330453912
it happaned when bethesda started to sell dlc

nah, I'm having fun with the dozens of already released and soon to be released AA titles on the PS4. OdinSphere remake and Grand kingdom are just around the corner and I'm having fun with EDF4.1 and Witch100Knight right now

If you hate the AAA spectrum so much don't play those games, simple as that. That's not to say all high budgeted games are shit, I'm sure to pick at least a handful this year (NierA, P5, MonHunGen, etc) but pretending like that's all there is in the industry is fallacious at best. Even on PC you just had XCOM2 and down the road Gothic Armada and warhammer total war

All the games I mentioned might not be up to your tastes but that's your own fault. If you don't like the biggest AAA's like Destiny, Fallout4, CoD, etc, if you don't like any of the AA's I mentioned in this post and if you don't like all the indie games constantly coming out then I think it's time to leave this hobby.

Choice surely isn't lacking nowadays

>"Only a little further, really!"

Apprently it also started when consoles went main stream. And a hundred and fifty other points in time

You dont think it might have been when:

Yearly releases of the same game (COD, AssCreed, every sports game ever)

Overpriced contentless dlc (horse armor)

Day 1 DLC

Unfinished releases that require paid DLC to complete

SJW pandering and censorship

Pay to win DLC modeling

"Cinematic experience"

The industry has been in decline for a while, Destiny was just the culmination of all the wrongs that came before it

There hasn't been a good game since 2004.
>>
Why is /v/ filled with cynical and bitter people?
Gaming hasn't gone worse, you just grew up.

>>330454915
>all Bethesda dlc is bad :^)

Epic
>>
>>330453912
Soooo. Like what is the difference between an expansion pack and dlc?
>>
>>330456085
Expansion packs are usually larger than DLCs, DLCs being smaller additions to gameplay and Expansion packs being a larger extension of the game. But they're marketing terms anyway so they're open for however the company selling it wants to label it.

Gaming has gotten worse, but its the same thing thats happening in all other forms of media. Movies, for example, are increasingly targetting broader audience demographics and as a result movie quality diminishes as they become dumbed down and banal products designed to alienate as few people as possible. Not all movies have this problem as movies are also considered an artform and get all sorts or finacial support and tax breaks for aspiring film makers, unfortunately video games are not treated this.
>>
>>330453912
Reminder that the first season pass for this game included exactly one raid. Fucking garbage
>>
>>330457425
>tfw the second season pass only includea TTK as a raid
>>
>people think Destiny is when this shit started

This is how I can tell you morons started playing games on a 360. Halo 1 marked the doom of video games, then Call of Duty 4 put the nail in the coffin.
>>
the gameplay is just really dull and boring. when did standards fall this low?
>>
>>330458537
Why was it halo?
>>
>>330453912
So /v/ what is your opinion on the raids in this game? Did you find them challenging?
>>
>>330458752
Halo 1 brought Microsoft into the the console race in full force and brought millions of dude-bros with it. I don't care what you actually think of the games themselves, if you deny that Halo 1 and Call of Duty 4's success didn't kill video games you're too young to be here.
>>
>>330458832
Surely no one found them challenging... r...right?
>>
>>330458537
Call of Duty 4 was great don't be a fag
>>
>>330459024
Except Microsoft was already in the console race, and halo 1 was a pretty good shooter... so I don't understand.
>>
video games died when they stopped being niche and became a big industry
it was always about money but not like this
>>
>>330458832
VoG was amazing.
Everything else a shit.

But videogames have only been getting better year on year since 2009?

We're in a new golden age
>>
>>330459367
While it was definitely a good raid it was sooooo fucking buggy and they didn't even try to fix it ever
>>
I'd say the beginning of the end of consoles specifically began when the Xbox 360 became a literal ad machine.
>>
>>330453912
>as a market
Wrong as a market, it did great. The game printed money.

Gaming is about money anon. Not about your individual enjoyment. Gamers destroyed it when they voted with their wallets
