Let's talk wireless mice and keyboards. Are we still so behind in technology that they'll make a noticeable difference while playing a game?
>>
I play vidya games with both and works perfectly fine.
>>
>>330417047
I bought a microsoft explorer touch and shit fucks up when I take calls on my wireless phone, the mouse was perfect for a cheap mouse otherwise, you can even program macros on it.
Fuck this gay earth.
>>
No
But there's literally no reason to use them unless you want to use them away from your desk, like from in front of a TV screen or something.
>>
>>330417047
why was this a thing?
>>
>>330417774

You don't remember? Why?
>>
>>330417774
Because it was the 90s and nobody knew how the fuck computers worked.
>>
>>330417774
so we could celebrate the millennium as a group.
but for real, they thought there would be an issue with computers not knowing how to handle an XXXX format where it wasn't 1XXX. that was it. The idea was, the computers clock would roll over to 1000 and disappear.

As ridiculous as it sounds even iphones nowadays can get bricked if you set the date to 1970, because of the operating system.
>>
>>330418171
It worked fine for me, but I don't play fps

Don't worry, anon. She's also Russian, and also a Slav piece of shit. So, she's not sexual at all. She'll glass you with a bottle of vodka if you want though.

I know what Y2K is, but I'm confused on why a business would fall for that crap, >>330417928 's story is a lot more believable than a major retailer doing something like that.
>>
>>330418660
Y2K was a huge deal.
People built apocalypse bunkers in preparation for it.
There was a huge hysteria about it.

I was so disappointed that the world didn't end.
I have waited since then for the end.
I want to kill myself everyday.

Time is a finicky thing. If it's wrong you can expect files to disappear, random device reboots, hell even a brick.

On a side note I should read about theoretical physics some more.

It easily would have caused problems in all kinds of software if it wasn't fixed. But it's not like the concept of 2000 coming after 1999 had sneaked up on anybody, so of course any software written by anybody who knew anything was fixed beforehand. Basically, nothing serious would ever have gone wrong in a world not populated exclusively by retards, but fixing this "bug" did need to happen, so it's not like the whole thing was made up.

Thats really to do with the way time is calculated in modern systems, 1/1/1997 is the zero point. apple is just lazy and didnt put a work around which has been used for 46 years.

I recall being 13 at the time, playing Fallout 1 with my bro. He phoned me in the morning of Jan 1st and tells me that his PC works just fine. He also worked out how to kill a mutant and took his energy cells. Yay.

used to have a wireless mouse. although mobile it was very limiting in regards to buttons, durability and battery life. definitly not worth the price.

mumsies still uses them though, but then limited desk space and not using a computer for vidya.

The main problem is the battery life its really annoying when it starts to lose power and you have no spare. if you want a mobile light mouse get one of the cheep wired Microsoft ones
>>
>>330421108
You can't afford rechargeable batteries?
>>
>>330417047
I use them for my living room pc, so I can have them on the couch.
It works great, but you need batteries so I wouldn't use them if I didn't need to.
>>
>>330421387
Not him, but I had a wireless mouse and it was really annoying to be in the middle of a multiplayer game when you suddenly need to change batteries.

;_; what a beautiful time system it would be. time would be so much quicker. 10 hours to the day. 10 minutes to the hour. 10 seconds to the minute.

You realize software engineers did a shit load of work to make sure nothing happened right?
Y2K didn't happen because it was never going to happen. It didn't happen because it was prevented.
>>
>>330422940
>Y2K didn't happen because it was never going to happen. It didn't happen because it was prevented.
wat
you said two different things.
try using the word 'prevented' for which one you actually mean
>>
>>330422940
I moved my pc clock up to 2000 in 1995 out of curiosity
Nothing happened
I never understood why people were freaking out, except for the mayan prophecy but we all know how that went.
>>
>>330422996
What I said is perfectly legible. Are you perhaps retarded?

Either it was never a problem or it was prevented, which one.

>>

2 year olds would have trouble remembering that.
>>
>>330421880
I was going to say that I would doubt that, but then I remembered that its been a whole 16 years, so I guess you'd be right. It honestly still feels like 2k should be 7 years away still.
>>
>>330423218
I don't kill myself because I have literally everything most people wish for.
some good amount of money, good family and I have a good house and shit.
I also have a job here in my own shop where I an play vidya and browse 4chan all day.
Chinese kids working in pawn shops would kill to have what I have, so it feels like shit to want to die, but I still do. Also religious beliefs.
