Theres great single player and split screen. You can do the whole campaign in coop, its really fun and has good variation and makes good use of the maps. Its also really fucking fast and difficult on expert mode which you get after the last cup i think.
You definitely missed its prime but its still a fantastic game. If youre a sega fan youll appreciate the skies of arcadia, burning rangers, nights, house of the dead, jet set radio, panzer dragoon, and so on maps, on top of all the sonic stuff.

I recommend it if its on sale just for single player alone. I got it for pretty cheap, keep an eye out during summer sales or something big.

All console versions are missing the Total War, Football Manager and Company of Heroes characters and the Wii U skipped all the DLC. Just get it on PC. The Outrun DLC is very, very worth it.

It physically doesn't work. I haven't had any issues drifting in any real or kart racing game before.
I read and watched guides for this, tried out several different racers for over 1 hour and it never even activated drift mode even once.
It might be because I'm on W8.1, but who the fuck knows.
