Ok, I'm fairly new to street fighter, but can someone explain why the game lies to players about required motions?

Like what the fuck? I found I can cancel mikas st. HP into critical art by doing st. HP and then two backslash looking motions. thats not what the motions says. it says two quarter circles back, but that motion rarely works

other example, an srk motion can be done by rolling the stick from bottom right to back left and back again. thats not a z motion

final example, zangiefs spd motion. you do not have to do a full circle, why does the game perpetuate that lie. going from forward or back to the opposite upwards diagonal will also work

also, the game never tells the player about the existence of negative edge, so you often don't even need to hit a button twice in a combo, just hold it down and let go after doing a special motion
>>
Having negative edge with SFV's buffers is a bitch. So many times do I try to OS with cancellable normals only to have the special come out even on whiff.
>>
means you're probably doing your motions wrong
>>
Honestly, there are a lot more important things that SFV doesn't tell its players. It doesn't teach how to do specials at all, V-Reversals, knockdown recoveries or even dashes. SFV's tutorial is a joke.
>>
Same with sf4. To do a z motion, you could actually do down forward, down, down forward and a shoryuken would come out. Input leniency. Game figures what you wanted

And just to note, this is intentional, to make the game easier for newbies.

The game is lenient so people that can't play fighting games can play them.
As a hitbox user, I can do Gief's spd by inputting left, right, up, down. As long as you buy all the cardinal directions you'll get the spd. Makes shimmying much more effective since I can SPD without jumping.

Hit* Not buy, I guess I'm tired.

what possible advantage could you have from forgoing a stick? that looks like my nightmare

What's the lowest rank in the game currently?
>>
>>330296149
rookie. bronze is one up from that
>>
>>330296149
Rookie? Unranked?

>>330295907
I also play Gief using a hitbox. Is it possible to do cr. LK, cr. LK, CA? I've been having a lot of trouble with it.

When you practice with it you'll be able to input faster than a stick in theory. The things kind of a bitch to learn though.

I mean the number like in OP's picture

Imma assume that defense is a lot easier. Just hold up back and you should be able to block most cross ups plus other stuff. Then again, I've never used one so I don't know jack shit. Just guessing.

Makes it easy to do motions aside from 360. I can slide my fingers for a half circle.
I can also reaction super, since for example karin's is double fireball motion with punches.
In SF4 I can walk forward reaction shoryu. Hitbox has a youtube channel explaining how to use it and a bunch of neat tricks like how to do standing 720's.
Here's the business card I got explaining the button layout.

I can't say, I'm a karin main.
Sorry for taking long to reply, my hands are pretty unsteady, and it took a long time for the camera to focus.

yall need to cut your nails

>>330297307
Alright. No problem. I'll just keep practicing.
>>
>>330296470
Personally, it's a lot easier to learn than stick. I borrowed my friend's stick and I couldn't click with it.
With the hitbox, the only real hurdle is remembering that jump is on the bottom of the controller.

Hitbox is borderline cheating. You can do shit that isn't possible on a stick.
