People still play it because of the time they've invested in it, and because it plays well. There's no floaty movement, there's no animation locks and it's toaster friendly.

It's very likely that the numbers have dropped a lot more. It's what happens naturally at this stage of an expansion, and just judging by the price for WoW tokens, very few people seem to be willing to pay for the game anymore.
