I played this game with friends and we used to relay our sleep time to guard the base and call each other in case of raids.

I've been very creative with my base location and still been raided.
there's really not much hiding spots though. one time I was able to make a small base in a cave.

i had a base that got raided every now and then, but the most valuable objects and items i had were simply hidden in boxes on top of a rock very near my base. the boxes weren't covered at all, they where just on the top of this boring ass rock and no one found them ever. thats also where i had my bed. my base was pretty much just a coverup for the really cool stuff.
