That effects the gameplay of the game, Suddenly free to play gamers aren't on the same level as pay to win players because they are paying for an advantage.
I want it to be balance both pay and free are on the same level and can win or lose.
I tried to play DK1 recently and just couldnt. The entire screen was so blown out with huge pixels I couldnt make out anything on the screen.

Converted or imprisoned heros could be more fun to torment if they more personality or backstory. Like they might have a randomized point of cracking, torture with rats, or something.

Like my fun with dk 2 was the gaps my imagination filled with what kind of despair I was causing, the personality of my minions, how impressive my dungeon must look.
You could fill some of that in by giving the fighting pit a leaderboard and modifying the champion to act like a pompous asshole. I want my minions to get into fights like if said pompous asshole bumps into the guy who just got the casino jackpot. Inter unit interactions in general were only represented by changes in mood. That could be expanded with visible unit interactions.
Ok and yes the mistress was hot, but i wouldnt engage in more explicit sex unless you want to be a true artist.
The safer route is probably fetish pandering, slime units that absorb enemies, grappling tentacle monsters, giantesses, sexier vampires. You could have some units that prey on other units of yours during down time.
