Gears of war 1 had the best gameplay as well. The mulcher and mortar in gears 2 were crap, and the sawed off in gears 3 is dumb as fuck, judgement, where to even begin. The perfect gears game would be 1 but with the chainsaw dual and hammer of dawn charge for MP they added later on because the way they works in 1 is dumb. Do that and it's perfect.
