Evolve and the season pass has hit $9 on PC (won't say which store because don't want to get accused of spamming), which is pretty much my "fuck it" amount. Worth it or is it really that bad?
That said, I do wonder whether it's going end up as F2P or end up in a bundle soon as a desperate last-ditch attempt to up its player-count.

I will wait for it to decline to appearing in a humble bundle. Then I'll grab it for a dollar with some friends and play for a weekend. I'm sure it will also boost player base for said weekend so its not as dead.

I really liked the game, but business strategies like these should never be successful. I'm kinda glad it crashed and burned, so that other developers can learn from it.
It's a good game at that price honestly. Evolve devs got fucked over by their publisher so hard, it's almost as bad as EA butchering Westwood.
There is some big hush hush going down at Turtle Rock Studios atm, we won't be getting any major news or updates till summer 2016. They won't talk about why this is happening, but this is most likely them bunkering down and either making the game F2P or making Evolve 2.
It is an excellent game.
But it's not a $60 dollar game + DLC + tip + no updates
But I did love it, so if it's THAT cheap, i might gift it to one people or two.

Developers don't "sell" anything. That's what publishers are for.
And it depends on what is in their contract with 2K, but odds are, that included making DLC. Maybe TR didn't suspect how fucking crazy 2K would go with the monetization, and so they allowed 2K to have control of that aspect, or it wasnt specified.
In this scenario, if TR decides they don't want to make the DLC that 2K wants to sell at horrible prices, then they're in breach of contract, 2K doesn't need to pay them anything, and they can't feed their fucking families.

I really enjoyed Evolve's beta. When everyone was new, it was great. Then it got to the point where no one wants to play monster.
Being monster puts people off because it's 4 vs 1, so if they're competent you don't stand a chance. Pretty toxic user base but that's not uncommon in online games.

The only reason I bought this game was because I played the beta I then played it for 58 hours. The game is dead. Almost no one plays it and the ones who do are terrible and toxic as hell.
They could pay you to play it and it would still be a waste of your time
